Now in its fourth edition and better than ever, ECG Interpretation Made Incredibly Easy! makes learning to read and interpret rhythm strips easy and fun. This practical reference uses a unique, light-hearted writing style that makes learning this complex information non-threatening and highly enjoyable. This entertaining reference reviews fundamental cardiac anatomy and physiology, explains how to obtain and interpret a rhythm strip, and teaches the reader how to recognize and treat sinus, atrial, and ventricular arrhythmias as well as heart blocks. In addition, ECG Interpretation Made Incredibly Easy!, Fourth Edition, explains how to obtain and interpret 12-lead ECGs. Special elements found throughout the reference make it easy to remember key points. Each chapter features: A summary of key points; clear, simple explanations of problems; definitions of key terms; illustrations that clearly explain key concepts; bulleted lists and checklists that make it easy to spot important points at a glance; marginalia that highlight key facts about ECG interpretation; and quick quizzes to test knowledge. 5 customer reviews No explanation of concepts. May 27, 2008 I honestly can't figure out why this book was written. It does not teach you how to "interpret" ECG's. All it does is present you with rhythms and then tell you what the interpretation is. It doesn't actually teach you HOW to interpret. After every paragraph, I would be left with the question in my head, "But...WHY?" They don't ever explain how the pathology results in what you see on the EKG paper. This book might be good for someone not actually responsible for interpreting EKG's, but just needs to rotely memorize some common rhythms... ECG Interpretation. March 10, 2008This book is very informative. I learned a lot from and you can keep picking it up and reviewing small or large segments without getting lost.Good for getting little hints on how to remember drugs or anatomy or waves that go together. excellent. November 29, 2007I first purchased the 2nd Edition eight years ago, and when I was asked to teach a Basic Dysrhythmia Course at work, I found out that there was a 4th Edition. I just had to get this edition, the pictures and information in the book is basic enough for license staff and future telementary techs. No one gets lost reading this book, and it supplements what I am teaching. I am in the medical profession but not a nurse or doctor. ECG Interpretation made Incredibly Easy is just that. Simple english explanations with good graphics for simple understanding of what the basic squiggly lines mean. I wasn't interested in diagnosing just interpreting what the strip meant to my treatments of a patient in cargiac rehab. This book suited that purpose. ECG Interpretation Made Incredibly easy. October 18, 2007These are the best nursing books... I have quite a few of them and they are wonderful. They make it easy for the busy nurse to review and understand the content... Excellent books....

You find all the basic information about the most common topics on vascular sonography and how to solve the day by day challenges you'll find in your routine. Best buy for beginners. Simple and Efficient. February 27, 2007Simple and efficient, with topics about almost everything in Doppler's world. A clear text and very well organized. The best of the basic. March 19, 2006A textbook providing a simple and wide view of basic vascular ultrasonography An Excellent Text and Reference. October 2, 2005This new 5th edition is an improvement on an already excellent text on vascular sonography. Some tests are heavy on very detailed, hard-to-grasp, very long-winded theory that seem to be aimed at physicists. Still others are intentionally simplistic in an attempt to convey the basic issues, while unfortunately, This is a very thorough text on vascular sonography. Covers all apsects of vascular from peripheral to abdominal. Explains hemodynamics of blood flow and pathology. Excellent text to study for the boards and use in clinical practice.

5 customer reviews Kremkau. January 21, 2008 Diagnostic Ultrasound: Principles and Instruments (Diagnostic Ultrasound: Principles & Instruments (Kremkau)) The book is a basik and almost only book to study sonography principals. it was in great condition. thanks Great to have a clear concept of Ultrasound Physics. April 19, 2002I found this book very understandable and easy in the sense that it describes most of the physical principles in detail and with equation which some other authors lack. Though it's not so easy to read at once or showing not only definations but also descriptions of topics which makes it more to understand instead of just memorizing the things and that is the most important thing I found in it An introductory textbook on medical ultrasound. April 18, 2001I actually came across Professor Kremkau's textbook accidentally, when I was looking for some not too dated text on the physics of medical ultrasound. Although it was obviously aimed at a practicing ultrasonographer preparing for some ARDMS or ARRT exam rather than a physicist trying to brush up his knowledge of medical ultrasound, it proved to be a valuable source of relatively recent information on the current state of the area. The textbook starts with an overview of the basic physics of waves and ultrasound, proceeds to the transducers and beam shape, and continues to the computer technology used for imaging. Next comes a chapter on the Doppler effect, being followed by a discussion on spectral analysis. A synthesis of these two techniques is the color Doppler imaging, and an entire chapter is devoted on the recent techniques like Color Doppler and Color Power Doppler. The textbook is concluded by a chapter discussing the artifacts, and finally a chapter on performance and safety. The style is highly readable, although the text is somewhat repetitive. One striking observation - for a physicist at least - is that professor Kremkau denies the efforts spent in inventing a readable representation of mathematical relations over the past 500 years or so, and has invented his own system. So instead of the usual "wavelength equals propagation speed divided by frequency" written in mathematical symbols, we see frames like "frequency UP, wavelength DOWN" throughout the book. Strange, and probably not particularly efficient. Each chapter is accompanied by a list of over 100 questions, and the answers are provided at the end of the book after the summary chapter. Each chapter also contains a small handy glossary. The book is lavishly illustrated and has a useful index, while the list of references is not particularly impressive. Good begining for education. August 23, 2000I think, that this book is for those, who wants understand, what is ultrasound, what are the basic principals of working with it, and how to use ultrasound in practice. So, good begining for education in the field of ultrasound. Good luck for everybody, and of course, fortune!
This new volume in the popular Radiology Requisites series efficiently presents all of the core knowledge in general, vascular, and obstetric/gynecologic ultrasound. It covers everything from basic principles through state-of-the-art tech-niques, with a focus on the specific information needed to pass the boards and practice radiology. Concise but compre-hensive, it is extremely easy to read, with abundant charts and lists to summarize important facts at a glance.
5 customer reviews GREAT resource!. August 9, 2008 I'm a sonographer in a general ultrasound department of a hospital, graduated last year. I was looking through Amazon's list of general resource books for ultrasound, and took a chance on this one. VERY glad I did! This is a great book to keep around in the department, or even to study from. Great images, extensive topic coverage, and well laid out. I would recommend it to anyone in a similar position, no matter the experience. Not much in the way of neonatal ultrasounds, and I wish there was more on vascular, but it really does a great job with Abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, etc. Excellent introduction to U/S. October 15, 2007I'm a 1st year radiology resident. This book is a good balance between time spent and knowledge obtained for a busy resident. Totally recommended as a first read before entering U/S rotation. However, coverage of vascular ultrasonography is minimal- so after mastering this your next logical step would be Zwiebel's book. Introduction to Vascular Ultrasonography(Fifth Edition) Outstanding. August 30, 2007Great book that cover general and obstetric ultrasound in a concise way. I found myself reading this book when I had some free time at work, before I bought my own. It covers Abdomen and OB-GYN, so you dont need another book. For a textbook, its easy to read and the pictures are fantastic, so you know when you see it on your patient. I sold my other text books because I acutally read this one and refer to it. I love this book!!! Great Book. July 29, 2006I am a second year radiology resident. I just completed my first US rotation. I used this book and thought it was great. It has nice pictures and a well-put-together text. All in all, I highly recommend it. One of the best of the Requisites series!

This text offers a comprehensive compilation of step-by-step sonography protocols using AIUM guidelines specifying organ location, anatomy, physiology, sonographic appearance, normal variants, patient prep and position, transducer choices and survey method, as well as required images and image labeling. The 2nd Edition features protocols for full and limited studies and new chapters on pediatric and adult echocardiography. 5 customer reviews Emir . September 21, 2007 The book is excellent for students and beginners in the field of ultrasound. The information provided is optimal for self-practice and improvement your practical skills as well as theoretical. The only one issue concerning the book is the date of last edition (1999). However, how much it changed? Anyway, I recommend this book to those who are about to start ultrasound scanning. Great Book. December 3, 2005Great book for the beginner,is a book that you must read if you are learning to scan. Great Leaning Tool....... May 27, 2002Highly recommened for anyone studying to become a Sonographer in a didactic, clinical or Hospital setting. If you have difficuly making out what you are seeing on the monitor, or knowing what images you should be taking, This book is the ticket. :) this book is basic, has many pictures without color , and schematic pictures, but has basics comments ,hasn`t photos , I recommended others books ,for example Introduction to Vascular Ultrasonography ,the autor is Zwiebel Principles and protocols. June 12, 2000Excellent literature and easy to understand. Great book for beginner, intermediate, and advanced sonographers. Wonderful to have for a reference, you can never know to much. This is a "must" for those who thrist for knowledge.

5 customer reviews Excellent Book!!. July 15, 2008 THIS IS A GREAT BOOK TO GET READY FOR THE TEST , AFTER BEING COUPLE YEARS OUT OF THE FIELD I USED THIS BOOK AND THE Q & A BOOK, AND I PASS WITH AN 85%. IT HAVE SOME MISTAKES BUT THEY ARE OBVIOUS.. ITS A VERYYYY GOOD BOOK !! Life Saver. November 18, 2007This book helped me pass the ARRT Exam. I haven't been in school for a couple of years...plus I went to school overseas. I had the old version of this book but I needed to buy the newer one. It lived up to it's title "Radiography PREP". This book together with the Lange Q&A - Radiography Examination were the only books I needed...now I'm a Registered RT. Radiography Review Book. October 5, 2007Arrived very promptly in perfect condition. great book for review. gives you need to knows for boards. GREAT REVIEW!!. September 3, 2007I would totally recommend this book to anyone who is going to be taking the ARRT registry. It's a great review from the x-ray program. A must have!! wojonet. October 12, 2006I have been out of school for 32 years and recently needed to renew my ARRT license which I unfortunately had let lapse. I studed this book and the Appleton & Lange review and passed the test with a 90. I highly recommend this book for confidence in taking the registry.
Now with hundreds of new images, this core text focuses on the two main divisions within sonography: general/abdominal and obstetric/gynecologic. It also provides coverage of vascular ultrasound and an introduction to echocardiography. While the abdominal and vascular sections are organized by body systems, OB/GYN uses a chronologic approach to development during pregnancy and an anatomic approach to gynecologic pathology. Each chapter covers patient history; normal anatomy, including cross-sectional anatomy; ultrasound techniques; pathology; and related laboratory findings.
3 customer reviews Good textbook, but double-check info. May 23, 2006 This is a good textbook if you have other resources available to double-check the information. The main problem I found with this book is that it tends to contradict itself, which can be quite frustrating for a student who is preparing for a test. For instance, the text will tell you that a certain condition usually presents as a single lesion, but the table right next to it says that same condition usually presents as a multiple lesion. This doesn't happen all the time, but it is more often than I would expect for a textbook. I have read the previous edition of this book. Compare the fourth edition, several improvements have been made in this edition: Each chapter begins with a list of key terms and definitions. Color illustrations and layout are used. A lot of new ultrasound images are added and the qualities of these images are much better. The text has been retrenched. Important points are put in tables for differentiation. Even there are still a few mistakes in this edition, I believe this is a great book. Pertinence to the field of sonography. December 7, 1999We have instructed over twenty thousand professionals in diagnostic ultrasound and have found this text to be essential to any ultrasound practice. We recommend this text to each of our beginning and intermediate students, regardless of specialty of training or professional experience. Sandra has, over the years, consistently compiled a comprehensive reference for immediate and referential use. You will find it useful from the first day in the field, and for years afterward. Although it is by no means a basic text, its style is eminently readable and easily retained.
Designed to accompany Textbook of Diagnostic Ultrasonography, 6th Edition, this workbook provides a comprehensive review of all material in the text. Activities include image identification, anatomy identification and labeling, definitions, transducer selection and manipulation exercises, sonographic techniques, positioning exercises, critical thinking exercises, and case reviews.
3 customer reviews Very Pleased.. September 2, 2008 This product arrived in a very timely fashion and is in great condition. I'm very pleased with the order. An entirely unhelpful workbook. December 21, 2007This workbook consists entirely of pulling excerpts straight from the text. It doesn't ask questions to make you think or understand anything better. About the only reason it probably exists is to make sure you have to open the book. Good Beginner's book. November 24, 2007This is a good book for a beginner, someone who is in a diagnostic ultrasound program. It is not a good source for review for the board exam but it is perfect for a student who is starting to learn the ABCs of ultrasound.
The most current, comprehensive question-and-answer review of diagnostic medical sonography for national certification examination preparation. This popular review covers all facets of ultrasound, including basic physics, vascular sonography, ob/gyn, transvaginal, transrectal, adult and pediatric echocardiography, and neurosonography. Includes hundreds of images and 12 pages in full color. 5 customer reviews This book will only confuse you.. December 2, 2007 If you are studying for the RDMS test, don't waste your time studying using this book. If you had a good solid core understanding of ultrasound...you will find this book full of errors...it had too many errors that it was sometimes amusing and frustrating at the same time. This book will only confuse you if you are just at the starting point of your studying process. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED. Excellent review for ultrasound physics. March 10, 2007This book is a great investment for those preparing for the ARDMS Physics boards. It should be used along with a good physics text (such as Edelman's Understanding Ultasound Physics). Appleton and Lange's study guide provides a good REVIEW of physics; however, there is NOT enough material to study to fully prepare students to sit for the boards. The 500+ questions following the study guide provide the opportunity to APPLY knowledge. Explainations for most questions are offered in the answer section. Good Review Book. July 22, 2006I found this book a good review for the registry. There are a lot of questions at the end of the book to review the material that is covered. REVIEW BOOK. March 3, 2006This book is fantastic. This review book was assigned to my senior ultrasound program in our last quarter of classes. A colleague of mine who is a radiologic technologist had used the A&L RT review book and found it helpful, so my expectations when it was assigned were to be able to learn and to have a good array of review questions. |
